It started with research born of pure desperation. She began reading about ancestral skincare practices, exploring the ways people cared for their skin before petroleum-based moisturizers and synthetic serums existed. That research led her to tallow: rendered animal fat that has been used for centuries as a skin treatment, prized for its remarkable compatibility with human skin.
Bison tallow in particular stood out. Unlike conventional skincare ingredients, tallow shares a fatty acid profile remarkably close to that of human sebum, the skin's own natural oil. She started small. Her kitchen became a lab.
